1st house, a dream came true!

Remembering those old days when Joel told me to give it a try! Walked out from my comfort zone and face the challenges that ahead of me.. I can never forget how he has encouraged me and keeping me through every stage of my life. I can never thank God enough for putting this wonderful and inspiring man in my life too.
A lot of time, I questioned myself. What is my achievement in this 27 years? What have I achieved to make papa, mama & Joel proud of me? Sometimes, I feel that I am so tiny but yet God has enlarge me w/ all His goodness and blessing in my life. Sometimes, I feel that I am not worthy because I am a sinner but yet God never forsake me but always carry me through every season of my life. I'm always blessed and thankful!

Years ago, we make a decision to buy a house. We are not greedy, as long as we got a small place that belong to us then we are grateful enough. This dream came true w/ the help of my parent. Of course, I put all my save up in it too :) That time round, I was the one who do everything from top to bottom. Joel was still in Miri studying while I just have to cope everything myself. From choosing a right house to house loan, to renovation, furniture and all, I do it all by myself. W/ no car and have to rely on some help from others, I'm forever grateful to Auntie Ivy, my best buddy- Mich Wong and her parent, Codi & Timmie. It is a loooong journey for me to achieve what we have like now. I will never regret to make this dream came true!

This is a small house for us, a studio apartment :) and I can proudly say I own my 1st house!

The previous look of the house. It was belongs to a Malay married couple obviously w/ the green wall ;p

Changing the wall color and build-in-cabinet into my fav color- White.

Thank you Max for sending his worker to help to paint the whole house.

I also decided to change all the essential part in the toilet

I'm always a Ikea's fan! Thank God for some help to get the furniture ship over to KK

Codi who really helps a load when Joel not there. A man behind all the scene.

Laminated flooring for both the rooms. This room has transformed into my dressing room ;) Another small lil dream came true!

I'm lucky enough to have build-in-cabinet and wardrobe ready. We just have to paint it all WHITE!

My tiny vintage room ;) which brought me loads of memories!

Some furniture and deco

One of the high-light in the house but I learnt my lesson for not getting any of this in our new house. Tho it may looks nice and pretty but the light bulb is a bomb!!!

Almost there.. Doing some cleaning uppp

Mama's idea of getting wall-paper :) It matches the feel of the whole house

Taaa-daaahh... The tiny living room :)

I love this part of my house

A view from my study table to the room

The interior deco of my room

In fact, I love every single part of my home and I even love the man who sitting there!

Thank you Lord. Thank you Papa & Mama. Thank you Joel Thien!

Ps: We are renting this apartment out soon in 2 months time. If you are interesting in renting a small house or you know any of your friend is looking, feel free to contact us by leaving a comment below or FB us or email Joel, thienjoel@hotmail.com

#JMHome post: 2. The latest update of the renovation work, coming to an end soooon!

All these started w/ when we planned to get marry, we will need a "nest", our HOME. We are blessed enough to have our parent's support. Like seriously FULL support from them! We can't make it this far w/o their love, support & guidance. As you all know that, we are in the midst of arranging and doing our new house's renovation. I have also keep this blog updated w/ "New House post". So that we can read back when we are 40years old?! haaa ;D

From the beginning of this year, we have been dealing w/ defects which mean we get to fix or re-do some of the small defects in the new house. Over the past 6 months, we have been routinely doing this and finally came to an end around May. Once this stage ended, we are entering into renovation work. Loads of planning to look into like I have mentioned zillion million times before at my Instagram or Twitter. So today we gonna share w/ you some of the planning progress of us for our new home :)

The day when we got the new house's key after the defect period came to an end! Superb happy and content!!

Celebrating w/ Sunday cone! lol

Guess we are one of the very hardworking couple that will go around all the furniture shop in KK during our free-time, comparing price and quality of the thing that we are eye-ing for. All the sweat and effort paid off when we got the furniture that we wanted w/ affordable price and good quality!

Looking back all the photos that we took during the chaotic period of purchasing kitchen essentials, room, living room, dining room, guest room, study room... Man!!! Can't imagine it is almost coming to an end soon.

Choosing material for curtain also one of a knowledge that we learnt lately. Not easy in term of matching w/ the furniture that we choose. But thank God we have chosen what we want last week and 1 down.

And we decided to do the painting ourselves, there the challenges came! We gotta scrubs all the door frames & prepare for painting. From choosing color till what kind of paint to use is also a lesson to learn.

Stepping into friend's shop also helps a load in term of tips & discount that given to us :)

The support that get from the Future-in-law is very much appreciated! This is how they show their love to us by their actions :)

Of course I can't slack but to work hard too!
We have finished painting. Tho it is not perfect perfect like the professional but it was our hard work. Even when we look at the wall or door frames that we have paint, it will b a great memories of ours.
The other day we went to the new house to have a look w/ the light, boyfren casually joke w/ me on the door frame that I painted. Superb messy and we had a good laugh about it ;)

Kitchen cabinet is one of the main thing we look into. Quote different pricy and at the end we got a special discount from an uncle of Joel. I can see my kitchen cabinet approximately in another week!

Dealing w/ the agent who helps in purchasing all the furniture from Ikea was a massive headach due to the amounts. Shipping also caused another problem to us. But none the least, it is all here and waiting the right timing to assemble it.

Lighting also playing an important role in the whole house. It can creates a different atmosphere by choosing the design & light bulb. Thank God for our electric man in giving his important opinion. As you can see in the pichass below, we choose down-light in most of the corner. It looks more classy and bright w/ white color bulb.

Never in our life that we purchased quite a no of air-cons.

Wall-light at the staircase. Suggesting you to choose this kind of light- Up&down so that it helps more and brighter.

A big mess at the dining area.

Our living room. It is kinda spacious. The grey wall that painted by the boyfren ;) So proud of him!

Remember this? We are trying to create a similar feel of this at our living room.

Checking out the air-con and also lighting and the boyfren said: 我们的家好像越来越有feel o!! Totally agreed w/ him! Can't wait till everything and every pieces of the furniture come alive together.

Last but not least, the 1st photo of us in our new house. Another month to go till
Holla, HOME SWEET HOME!
And now, we are still in the midst of getting grill, mosquito net, pipping (laundry area), flooring, electric gate, alarm system, kitchen cabinet&custom-made-build-in-vanity (coming soon), assemble all the furniture done. Of course we are also still looking some other furniture that we wanted to get here instead of Ikea. Then we are good to go!
Can't wait till everything is done but at the same time feel slightly sad because we gonna miss this process of renovation until we get another house again. After this, we can fully focus on another big project of ours- #JMDay & marriage preparation.

We wanted to thank God for His provision and blessing throughout the planning, executing & till now. He never fail to put a smile on our face at the end of the day despite of all the hassle, sweat, argument that we had. We really learn a load more than we can imagine through this house renovation thingy. May God continue look after us as we entering the final stage of renovation work and continue on on our wedding & marriage preparation. Amen!

We will update and flood this blog w/ pichaaa and video once the house is done ;) Stay tune xx
